Verbal Assault was a Rhode Island-based hardcore punk band that played their first show in November 1983 and went on to become one of the defining melodic hardcore bands of the 80s and early 90s. After multiple EPs and the classic Trial LP, Verbal Assault ended in August 1991. Their influence grew over the following decades and the band has reunited and toured occasionally in the 21st century, buoyed by reissues of all their material by Atomic Action Records.
